Say, I don't mind you under my skin. I'll let the bad parts in, the bad parts in. TAGGED: open WORDS: 446 A lot today just felt broken for Gracie King, most of those things didn't even matter to her. The fall feelings of coolness had just been preparing to come in for the few months they would but to her it felt cold, and empty. Like winter had since she had been thirteen at Beauxbatons. When Cecelia had been killed by that gunfire. At the time everything had seemed empty for Gracie, that was only the topping on the sundae of pity for her. Her grandmother had been cast ill and to the asylum, something her parents of course felt very ashamed of, and then there'd been Cecelia who had caused her parents amounts of pain. Although they always had had to bring Gracie in to it, who until twelve years of age hadn't meant anything to them. Then Cecelia was a squib and suddenly Gracie was the perfect child once more. She hadn't wanted that and it was funny for them to think that she had earned it even. Cast under her sisters shadow Gracie had been just fine until they'd taken her to parties with them as their new toy, the unbroken china doll just waiting to be cracked again. Even at school they'd favored her over her sister, and Gracie had just felt guilty. Like it had been her fault. Walking through the sheer glass doors of the office Gracie had worked in for the past five years a sudden feeling came over her. It was like warmth, something had changed here but she couldn't put her finger on it quite yet. Walking with grace to the elevator then going up in silence next to three different co-workers who all slightly hated her she let the small smile on her face continue. For some odd reason Gracie didn't feel like punching someone in the face, and it had only been ten minutes. Usually she would enter the building and critique everything someone had done, just like that. She was a rude boss sometimes but people needed to learn sometimes too. She was a tough boss, even more so a tougher employer when hiring. Currently she needed an intern but that could possibly be the least of her worries in a moment. Turning around to face her co-workers with a small smile then walk out of the stopped elevator Gracie headed down the long corridor towards her office. It had a view of Diagon Alley right out the window, where she was able to watch anything happen but at the moment she honestly didn't care. Waiting on her desk were twelve different intern applications to start off her day, something she found entertaining as always. NOTES: open open open! |
