ASHLEY NORA LENNOX
She was the first one of the twins to take a deep breath air. It was May 25th. Her mommy and daddy were in Ireland when it happened. Ethan and Marie thought it’d be a good idea to take a vacation before the delivery date, even with it being so close. Two minutes later came Victoria. After that is was always Ashley and Victoria. Ashley never showed anything against it. Spending nine months in a womb could either make or break a sisterhood. These two are always together. Or well, were. During Ashley’s childhood, her and Victoria spent all their time together. They played together, got in trouble together (usually Ashley’s fault), ate, slept, cried, everything was together. And because of that, Ashley has this big sense of being the over protective one. Ashley was fine with Victoria doing anything she wanted, but once someone else came into the picture, someone Ashley didn’t like, well it was known. She has her sister’s best at heart. Especially when Victoria began starting trouble.
Now it wasn’t anything like what Ashley did like throw mud at the teacher, or a push a kid down for trying to stick gum into someone else’s hair. Not even like when Ashley was found on top of a boy a bit larger than herself. She had managed to tie the boys hands together with her silk scarf and was sitting on his back cleaning her shoes when her mother arrived. No Victoria was doing things Ashley could only imagine. It was incredible and Ashley encouraged it. Screw her parents, Victoria was perfectly fine.
Two years after the strange things began, the twins were sent to a private school. It was something Ashley enjoyed a lot. She liked being away from her parents and around people who lived different lives. It wasn’t the look or cost of it. Anything outside of Ashley’s norm was exciting and she was more than ready to jump into it. One thing in common between Ashley and her sister was the fact that, Ashley didn’t care where the education came from, and as for manners? That flew straight over Ashley’s head.
Four more years and Ashley was getting ready to go to another school. Both of them received their owls. Ashley was more than positive Victoria belonged there, but herself? She never did anything that was freaky? Could her rebellion and independence with a dash of confidence be the strange thing? No, that wasn’t it. But what ever was running through her sister’s blood seemed to be going through hers as well.
As fate would have it, the twins were separated even before the feast, one went one way, and the other the opposite. That was an example of how twins were really different people, not even the hat knew they looked the same, just that Ashley was not like her sister. And from that moment, Ashley noticed too. Victoria had a far easier time settling in than Miss Ashley.
Ashely was alone a lot of the time until she found someone she could bond with. After that she was in a group of close friends. Second year she tried out for Quidditch, got the place. Ashely showed to be more of a tomboy than a lovely lady her mother wanted her to be. She found perfection in wand work, but everything just did not add up with Ashley. Third year she spent a lot of her year in detention for sneaking out and wondering around, usually because she made some big noise or broke a thing or two. And just like that, detention continued to follow her. And she welcomed it. Forth year passed, then came fifth. She spent more of her time studying for the subjects she didn’t do well in. Of course, everything she had to study for ended up as average marks, while the wand work were all outstanding and excellent, thanks to her natural ability at it. Ashley finally accepted that she did belong there and now she was back for her sixth year.
Ashley is the loud twin. She is filled with confidence and no shame. She will say anything she wants and whatever is on her mind. She won’t feel bad about it, and she usually makes sure she is heard, even if she wasn’t asked. She is very opinionated. She also always had the knack for disobeying authority or the social norms. Little girls should like pink and dolls. Ashley liked red and rolling around in the mud. She didn’t get along with many younger girls since she was always dirty, other than her sister, but she made friends with a lot of the boys, until she ended up beating them at something or just plain out beating them up.
Ashley has an insecurity of fitting in since she never showed a trace of magic in her past and the first year being the hardest for her to leave her sister and find someone else. But it really never showed. Ashley, though a twin, became more independent. Before she would always look out for her sister and made sure nothing went wrong for her. Prevented the bad and ushered in the good. But now on her own, she is doing that for herself. She is a bit on the wild side. She likes to be loud and have excitement going on. Which is why she lands into trouble a lot. She doesn’t really “fear” anything. She acts before she thinks and doesn’t believe in regrets because it is actually what molded her through the years.
Sarcasm is one of Ashley’s favorites. She’ll lace her words with it, or drench them. Other times she just acts playful and tries to be frustrating. She likes mind games. Ashley will play dumb when everyone knows she is nowhere near it. Oh and if she is in the mood, she’ll answer questions with questions, which usually goes on for awhile. Most of her detentions are for breaking the rules or smart mouthing a teacher. She does that a lot. She always has to be a smart ass and the last one to speak. The only time the girl is sweet is when she is with her close friends and her sister. She won’t show any sign of weakness.
Crying is something she would do on her own, somewhere where no one can see or hear her. Most of her summers, she would dismiss herself from everyone to sleep, but actually climb out the window and hide on the other side of the willow tree on their property and spend her hour letting her emotions out. Once summer is over, no tears, at all. Just lots of fights, verbal and physical thanks to her lovely temper. Ashley isn’t much on the whole right versus wrong thing, she’s more of the whole what’s smarter or more fun. Ashley is a bit loose. She does have morals and goals. But she doesn’t put them on blasts. Her team mates and friends are the only ones who get protection and loyalty from her. Or anyone who reminds her of her sister. Other than that, she could care less. Ashley will be difficult and uncaring. She doesn’t mind getting messy and can usually get her way around a sticky situation.
The sun poked out beneath the satin red curtains. Olivia had always been a fan of red. Her hair was auburn, a form of red, her favorite lipstick was lovable roux, and she looked great in it. It made her feel good but when she looked at the rays she felt horrible. Her body felt like it was shoved into a box and kept there for ages. Pain erupted in her stomach and she felt like she could heave up a life’s time of dinners. She called out for Aaron. He was the one who brought her home, the one she spent day after day with. She woke up empty and alone. The pain increased and rose into her temples. An explosion of emotions rushed in. There was so much, it felt like her mind was going to split open and let it all out. It felt like she was a child again.
As a teen she was diagnosed with multiple personalities which would actually have been bipolar if it weren’t for the time era. It started after her mother’s death and she was sent with another family, but no one knew what it was until she was half way through high school. Everything she did was explained in that one word. Medication and trials with new ideas and remedies went on until when she was in college she was fine. No more emotions, nothing. She was “cured.” But she didn’t miss any dose; she was fine until this moment.
It was only been barely two weeks since her and Aaron actually was like “together” together. Could she be pregnant? Sickness was one thing, but this? Olivia tried to get out of bed but she just doubled over in pain. She fell straight to the ground on her candy apple red rug. She grabbed at the threads and took a painful deep breath. Her blue eyes shut tight and she wrapped her arm around her stomach. Her eyes opened long enough to find a letter on the ground. Only a few words were laced on it. Have fun, babe. Signed by none other. He drugged her!
Olivia rolled on to her back. There were so many emotions being shoved into her head. It made her let go of her stomach and clutch her head, but at that exact moment, it happened. It sounded horrid. There were ripping noises, like her skin was being pulled off. Olivia found some strength to get up and leave her room. She was in the backyard when she felt a bone snap. It made her fall over. She rolled and shot up herself up as she continued out. She was heading in the opposite direction of town. She was headed for a cottage hidden where the house keeper lay. She didn’t make it.
The red head was on the grass rolling around. She arched her back more than once while her body rearrange. Bones moving and breaking transfiguring. At the end she felt different. Her head was still splitting with emotions but she felt fine. It had to be an hour until the she found the house keeper, gun and all. A shot was fired and towards her! Naturally you’d run in the opposite direction. Olivia took a giant leap. At that moment she noticed she was on all four and covered in copper fur. Once she landed on the keeper…
Olivia hit the floor. She was covered in sweat wrapped up in her blankets, a cocoon she must have made rolling around in her bed. She was back in the real world and in her human state. Her red curls covered most of her face and she blew it away. In the end she still needed her hands to move it away. Her muddy green eyes looked over at the alarm clock. “Damn sexy beast that ruined my life.” Olivia whimpered. She rolled up to try and push herself up. Her apartment looked completely different from the one in her dream or well, nightmare. It was covered in blues and greens, some colors she took a liking to after seeing her sister one last time. All she remembers were her eyes. It was a while ago too.
