He was quick and slippery and incapable of travelling in a straight line whenever he moved like this. He “moved with a purpose” as people often put it, holding no rush to interrupt his plans to politely request that people get out of his way. If Rodolphus couldn’t slither past them he simply shoved them out of the way with his broad and boney shoulders. His lean stature made it fairly easy to weave through the people like a mouse in a maze. Arms swinging at his sides and that typical arrogant swagger to his strides, this sort of bounce mixed with a sway that was so easily identifiable as his and his alone. It couldn’t be copied. Despite the mask and despite and high collared shirt and despite the gloves it was the way Rodolphus moved that gave him away as clearly as if he was completely naked. He slithered through the crowd making his way from one end of the Great Hall to the other, chewing on biscuits he’d stashed in his pockets. Hey, he was a growing boy. He needed more than the allotted mealtime to eat. Merlin forbid something happen to the precious specimen of a wizard if he didn’t get to eat as much as he should.
To most the masquerade was a night of merriment and a night to be spent with whichever disgusting excuse for a person they fancied. But Rodolphus wasn’t the average teenager. He saw it as an opportunity for his typical mayhem with a higher chance of never getting caught. For how could they catch him when he could so easily maneuver through the dense crowd of dancing students all while wearing a mask. He’d already changed it twice throughout the few hours he’d been at the masquerade, forcing a younger student to swap with his first simple black one and then stealing another right off of the head of a snogging couple, which resulted in the current mask he had on and was actually rather fond of. It suited his attire better than the one he’d initially been wearing so he might actually keep this one. Rodolphus didn’t have a specific agenda for the night, just an intense need to ruin it for as many people as possible. How dare they laugh and smile and enjoy the night! How dare they go to bed exhaling a content sigh reminiscing about the past few hours of dancing and feasting and more dancing!
His chosen companion for the night could have easily been predicted by anyone familiar enough with how this young man’s brain worked. There was, at the moment, only one person he desired to spent such an event with. Aside from himself, of course, because so far Rodolphus’s attempts at convincing a girl to take polyjuice potion of himself and let him live his self love to its fullest was unsuccessful. Some day, Rodolphus. Some day. For the time being the only girl he really wanted to be in this Hall with was Adrienne, who he’d left for but a moment so he could use the facilities. If she wasn’t where he had left her he wasn’t going to be a very happy young man. Just as Rodolphus could be spotted by the way he moved he would be able to see Adrienne by the way she moved her hands and swayed her hips like all women did. After the countless hours the two spent together it was simple enough to pick her out of a crowd of masked women. Rodolphus wasted no time and simply wrapped an arm around her waist to pull her close. His confidence that it was, in fact, Adrienne was that high. Besides, if it wasn’t her then some unsuspecting honey was getting a very pleasant surprise. “My lady, I brought you back a gift,” |
he declared, spinning so that they were face to face and his gloved hands were on her arms. [/div]

YOUR EYES ARE ON FIRE i'll seek you out , slay you alive [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image: url(http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x69/fastsinking/Image1-2.png); width: 388px; padding-top: 20px; padding-bottom: 20px;]adrienne quinn hart was not a young woman to be kept waiting, but she almost expected this to happen frequently through the evening with a date like rodolphus lestrange. she was not particularly irritated by the fact that he had disappeared for a while, unlike most girls might be. adrienne and rodolphus had an understanding between each other, and she could easily see another beautiful slytherin girl catching his eye and distracting him. that wasn't a fact that brought about her impatience, instead it was more that she demanded to be constantly entertained, no matter who by. she decided to disappear herself to the ladies room while she waited for him. she weaved through the crowds of dancing students occasionally jabbing an elbow to remove the obstacles from her path.
when she reached the loo she observed herself in the mirror, adjusting her net mask that surrounded dark smoky make-up covered eyes, and smoothing out her plain black dress with subtle lace decoration. her usually wavy locks were enchanted to be pin straight. she was pleased with her choice of attire. where the occasion usually demanded elaborate colorful ball gowns, adrienne was always one to go against the grain with her short black dress. only to set her apart further, upon her feet were a pair of black converse sneakers. always the tomboy, she would never get away with heels without making a complete and utter fool of herself. she didn't mind though, her sneakers allowed her mobility, and since most of the other girls were clad in heels, it would make it that much more difficult for them to run away from her evil wrath if the situation arose.
she wouldn't be seen waiting around for anyone so once she decided enough time had passed that rodolphus might have returned to the dance floor, she strode out of the girls' lavoratories and made her way back into the great hall. from a distance she instantly spotted his familiar frame, sauntering across the floor with ease. she followed his path through the crowd, only to see him wrap his arm around another pale brunette on the dance floor. a small smile curled on her lips. he had mistaken someone else for her! My lady, I brought you back a gift, she heard him say, whirling the girl around only to discover it was not, in fact, adrienne hart. she approached the couple and stood behind rodolphus now with a smile across her delicate features, her blue eyes alight with amusement.
can't wait to see what it is sweetie, she grinned tapping him on the shoulder from behind. she rested her hands on her hips, and surveyed her date, noticing a new mask covering his dark eyes. found a new date already rodolphus? she made a pretend gasp. and a new mask so i wouldn't be able to find you! she said, feigning a the voice of a love struck girl. she grabbed the edge of his cloak and pulled his body close to her's and away from the young lady he had mistaken for adrienne. i'm very disappointed in you rodolphus, you should be punished, she sneered in his ear, now returning to her usual cold smooth voice. but first, where's my present? she demanded folding her arms and tapping her foot on the floor impatiently. she was not a superficial girl by any means who wanted to be showered with flowers and candy, in fact the whole notion made her want to vomit, but she couldn't help toying with her male counterparts to no end, especially rodolphus. he was just too much fun to play with.

All he really saw was a brunette with amazing legs, he hadn’t taken the time to really look at what she was wearing. He honestly couldn’t care less what was covering her up just that there were too many layers of fabric between the two of them. All he was looking for was a brunette with gorgeous legs wearing dark colors because that was all he could bother to remember. It didn’t even matter that it wasn’t the right brunette, who looked up at him with surprise and slight annoyance but not with Adrienne’s pale blue eyes. Now, Rodolphus didn’t pay attention to much outside of himself, he honestly didn’t care enough to, but Rodolphus was a sucker for dark hair and pale eyes. He was a sucker for how easily Adrienne could manipulate those eyes to get people to see whatever it was she wished them to. He wasn’t always fooled but so many people were and it was admirable. This wasn’t Adrienne. Her eyes were brown. Boring. But Rodolphus Armand Lestrange did not get discouraged.
The fake and somewhat lame attempt at a charming smile—Rodolphus had never much mastered the art of mimicking emotions he was incapable of feeling—continued to shine down on this strange girl, who pulled lightly out of his hands and he allowed her to do as such. She seemed very confused and unsure of what to say and how to react, and just as Rodolphus was about to continue on with his façade his attention was brought elsewhere, turning to see Adrienne with her lovely legs and pale blue eyes. “Where the hell did you go?” |
he only half demanded, the other half of him not really caring where she had been and simply cared that she was back. He hated being bored and being in a room this vast with this many possibilities wasn’t something he wanted to experience alone. A victory such as this one wasn’t something that should have been spent alone. This was a victory best shared. And he just so happened to want to share it with Adrienne because she was the most conveniently available being. They understood each other in a way most people didn’t. She understood that he’d throw her under the train to Hogwarts if he ever had to. And he expected the same of her. Low expectations of everyone he came across. He’d long since forgotten about the other brunette, focused now on Adrienne while she pulled him closer by the cloak. “Hey, don’t wrinkle the goods,” he scolded lightly, smoothing his hand over his cloak. That shit was expensive. “That other one clashed. Needed something that didn’t look like something a Gryffindor threw up.” A hand found its way to her side and started travelling downwards, resting on her hip and pulling her so their bodies were pressed together. “And I suppose you’re going to be the one to punish me, then? Well have at it.” She’d either strip him down or actually physically hurt him. It was always difficult to tell with her. Not that he’d care much either way. “It’s hidden under these robes.” Spoken in that tone that implied to interpret that however she saw fit. Rodolphus could attempt to be romantic but it didn’t ever happen successfully. Especially with someone like Adrienne. He would never actually get her a gift. He’d bring her a first year to pick on. Or himself. Or someone else to fill his place while he got distracted by some other attractive young witch. [/div]

YOUR EYES ARE ON FIRE i'll seek you out , slay you alive [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image: url(http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x69/fastsinking/Image1-2.png); width: 388px; padding-top: 20px; padding-bottom: 20px;]i'll go where i please rodolphus, you aren't the boss of me, she said childishly, rolling her eyes. she knew he wasn't really concerned with where she had disappeared to, only that his entertainment had disappeared. merlin help rodolphus lestrange if he be without his booty for more than second. she watched him smoothing out his robes with amusement. she always thought he was the more feminine in the relationship at times. he was constantly gazing at his own reflection, concerned about the quality of his fashion choices, where she was much more rough around the edges when it came to those things. funny, you don't seem to mind when they get wrinkled on the floor of your dormitory she shot back with a grin. ah, of course, she agreed, pretending to notice that his previous get up did, indeed, 'clash'.
she didn't always like people to notice that she was so un-savvy in material matters. it was true that adrienne was vain, incredibly vain, but not about her physical appearance, her designer labels, or the extravagant wealth that her family name carried. she was vain about her own intelligence, her quidditch playing abilities, and her dueling talents... but in slytherin house money, fame, and always being on trend was certainly something that was equally important, if not of greater importance than any of those things. so adrienne liked to create the illusion that she could just as easily pick out a "clashing" masquerade ensemble as she could whip a quaffle past a keeper. whether or not people believed her ability to do so was another matter entirely. narcissa bought it, they were good friends after all. someone like christoph however saw past her facades, and rodolphus probably did too. they had spent enough time with one another, but there was no harm in trying to keep up the illusion anyway.
mm, right here on the dance floor? how do you know what kind of punishment i have in store for you? it could be utterly humiliating... she snickered. the wizarding band on the stage moved to a slower melody and other students on the dance floor began pairing up in twos for a slow dance. adrienne wrapped her arms around rodolphus' neck and began to sway to the beat. well, since i dare not wrinkle those precious robes of yours, i guess you'll never get to give it to me... she teased. adrienne could be an awful tease, but mostly only with rodolphus, because it was a dangerous game. if he didn't get what he wanted when he wanted it, there would be a hell storm. that was just who he was, but adrienne could be just as abusive and violent in just as many ways as he could. she was a tough broad, and he didn't scare her, and besides, he was the only one she could trust not to be mushy or develop feelings. she never wanted to be in a stable relationship because she didn't like the fact that she would have to make herself vulnerable. with rodolphus there was no pressure, and she had the luxury of being able to keep her guard up emotionally while she was with him. there was nothing beyond the physical.
well, dearest, i don't think i can take a second more of this yawn fest... she said looking around the great hall. what do you say we cause some trouble? she whispered in his ear. she already had plans to poison christoph rivers with an intoxicating love potion to disturb his picture perfect romance with that ravenclaw bore abigail, but that would be for later. in the meantime, there was always fun to be had with rodolphus. he was never short for a means of entertainment.

he huffed quietly, somewhat muttering to himself. He didn’t see why it was such a big deal to know where she’d gone. It wasn’t like he was demanding it of her, he was just curious. Women were so testy sometimes. No wonder Rodolphus didn’t want to get married when they acted like this constantly. Him and long term commitment just wasn’t a thing that would ever work out. He couldn’t even keep a girlfriend for longer than a month or two. Anyone who lasted that long deserved to get house points for that. Mostly because he only dated Slytherin girls and that was just one more reason for the house to get more point. “That’s different,” he defended. “They’re getting wrinkled for a good cause. I still have plenty of hours in the night left and I need to look my best for everyone in the hall tonight.” Yes, Rodolphus, because everyone was entirely focused on you and your affairs. Everyone wanted you at all times. It was safe to say that Rodolphus was in love with himself. Safe to say that he was very vain. He took great pride in his appearance and took great pride in being one of the most ink covered people within the castle; student and staff alike. He didn’t care what people thought in the slightest. He didn’t care that it was highly disapproved and unprofessional. He also didn’t care that Adrienne didn’t seem to care as much as he did. She was vain in a different sense. Prideful in her talents, which was just as important as being proud of your looks. Not everyone could be like him and have the entire package. Rodolphus had spent enough time with Adrienne both clothed and unclothed to know that she wasn’t really the type of person to go to for fashion advice. She probably hadn’t even noticed how violently the previous mask had clashed with his attire. Pity, really. Perhaps if she applied herself a bit more he’d respect her half as much as he respected himself. Hah! Like that would ever happen. “Me? Humiliated? Yeah right,” he scoffed, actually turning his nose to the air for a moment. Actually it would be fairly easy to humiliate someone as arrogant as Rodolphus but he had an attitude and a reputation to uphold. Adrienne knew enough of his weaknesses to be able to embarrass him in front of everyone at the masquerade but she also knew he was a spiteful asshole who would no doubt seek revenge. It would result in an endless cycle of getting revenge on the other that the rest of the wizarding world would no doubt get caught up in. A timeless battle of trying to out-embarrass the other. As the music slowed so did his unstable temper, his arms wrapping around her waist as hers wrapped around her neck. He swayed along with her, pressing his body to hers while she continued to tease him. He loved and hated this about her. Rodolphus enjoyed the hunt but his poor teenage hormones couldn’t say the same. “I would but…I’m not feeling up to an audience tonight.” Sometimes he just didn’t feel like sharing. Was that so wrong? “If we really need to…” he started, head tilted downward so he was murmuring directly into her ear. “There’s plenty of empty classrooms.” He stood back upright and tucked her head under his chin, continuing to sway along appearing as sweet and affectionate as any normal couple would. “What kind of trouble do you have in mine?” he questioned with deep interest, tilting his face back downwards so she could speak into his ear and him into hers. “Hex the ribbons, perhaps?” How delightful would it be if the decorations started stealing the students carefully chosen attires? YOUR EYES ARE ON FIRE i'll seek you out , slay you alive [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image: url(http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x69/fastsinking/Image1-2.png); width: 388px; padding-top: 20px; padding-bottom: 20px;]adrienne rolled her eyes at the suggestion of an empty classroom. of course, classic rodolphus. was there ever a moment that his tiny brain wasn't thinking about anything remotely sexual. adrienne wasn't interested in packing in the night just yet. there was an entire great hall full of practically the entire student and professor population, and they were all confined to this one area. it was a fire hazard waiting to happen... yes, a fire hazard... the slytherin's inner pyromaniac began to scheme mischievously. Her attention was then suddenly brought back to Rodolphus as he spoke, breaking her out of her daze. Hex the ribbons perhaps? Her brow furrowed and she pulled her head away from its nestled place against his chest. she stared up at him, clearly an unhappy woman.
hex the ribbons?... HEX...THE RIBBONS...? she started to say. her tone wasn't mocking, but rather, legitimately irritated at his lack of creativity. in his defense, adrienne had not even heard the rest of the plan. after all, he might have continued to say, 'hex the ribbons to start strangling the students', but adrienne knew that he probably wasn't pondering anything that dark. probably something much more on the perverted side like...hex the ribbons to start stealing their classmates' clothes. adrienne snorted a laugh. honestly lestrange, you're really starting to lose your 'je ne sais quoi' in your old age... she said dangerously, eyeing him. any suggestion that rodolphus lestrange was not the 'bee's knees' was sure to drive him absolutely mad. after all, he had to be known as the most desired creature in the school right? (although he was probably most desired by himself)
here's the plan, she lowered her voice, first we exit the dance floor, enchant it with a sticking charm so that everyone's feet become cemented to the floor... next the feathers, she hissed pointing to the decorative feathers that were scattered in every crevice of the hall. we light them on fire, she continued with excitement. her eyes were literally ablaze, you could practically see the flames igniting behind her gaze already. those things are everywhere, they'll catch faster than any aguamenti charm can put them out... we make our exit, and watch the whole ball burn to the ground! adrienne knew that rodolphus would definitely not like her trying to take control of things, he didn't want any women taking control of anything, but that was not okay with adrienne hart.
her ridiculous plan could never be carried out anyway. surely, she wouldn't be able to get away with it. she looked like an absolute psychopath just saying the words out loud. did she actually intend to burn down the great hall and everyone in it? yes well, there was no way it would ever happen. no student, even one as talented as she, would be able to do something like that unless every professor in the room was acting like the care of magical creatures professor or something.

he defended with a scowl under that mask. “I can’t help it. I’m a bloke with needs and you’re too fit.” It wasn’t his fault she was sexy and wearing a rather short dress. He had wandering eyes and wandering thoughts. She should know better. Between her and the other girls dancing in their general vicinity his ability to plot evil wasn’t exactly up to par. Not to mention the fact that she’d completely interrupted him so how would she ever know what the rest of his plan was? “Honestly, woman,” he continued to scowl at her, his grip around her tightening ever so slightly in his defensive state. The scowl turned into a fierce glare that could set the room on fire if he glared any harder at her. “Sod off,” was all he managed, though his anger subsided as a rather attractive looking young lady whirled behind Adrienne with her skirts flying dangerously high. He could listen to her plan, he supposed. For now. But if she was going to keep being such a rude pain in the ass he wasn’t going to be listening for very long. Rodolphus gazed down at her with a now bored expression with his lips turned downwards ever so slightly and his grip loosened on her now that he wasn’t verging on the edge of pissed off. His head lowered so he could hear her better over the music and chattering people, nodding a little to inform her that he was listening. Though even then his attention span would be questionable at best. “You and your fire fetish,” was all he had to say for the time being and continued to listen to let her finish. The mental image of the feathers catching fire and setting dresses and robes alike into a red and orange blaze was very appealing. As much as he hated having her of all people take charge of the situation he supposed he could let it slide just this one. If only for the fact that he could take credit for it for everything other than the repercussions. She could get caught for all he cared but it would be all his idea where it counted “Fine,” he spoke while straightening back out to his full height and adjusting his hat ever so slightly. With an arm around her slender waist he started moving them toward the least busy exit. “Come along then, my dear, we have business to attend to.” Such dignified words for someone who was particularly on the trashy side of things. “I only keep you around for your legs and brilliantly evil ideas, just so you know.” As if that wasn’t obvious but he felt it worth mentioning.
