joanna& Stubborn to a fault, Joanna finds herself digging her own grave , and continues to dig, dig, dig, even after she realizes she’s wrong: buried alive. Joanna would rather DIE than admit she was wrong, and if she HAS to admit it, then she isn’t going down alone—she’s taking you with her—teeth in jugular, preferably. Caustic and cold, aloof from everyone else. Though, deep inside, still in the dead, dead, dead heart of hers, something stirs every now and then. Kept under the lock and key of the cage of her ribs, she keeps any semblance of thoughts and/or feelings to herself, so used to ignoring them that she questions if they are truly even there anymore, if she is capable of having any sort of emotion at all. Probably not. Brains don’t have heart, only purpose.


acquaintances& No friends, never friends. People met in passing, or people of some use to her. At least, so she SAYS. A few have managed to slip past the pretenses through sheer force of will, and if you do, you’ll find someone who is incredibly protective and will move the earth for you, if she could (and she can, so she thinks)—though she’ll never admit it. In general though, she keeps things to a minimum.

heart(s)& Leave all hearts at the door. Heartbroken. Joanna loved once, and has since decided she would rather dedicate her life , time, and energy to runes than to any one person. Don’t ask, it’s not a very exciting story, it’s just another heartache.


despised& A general contempt held for most people, though people who are lazy, refuse to try, and just skate by in life are those for which she holds the most distaste. Joanna will respect, regardless of the cause, anyone who puts their all into something. For the most part, she holds a certain air of superiority around her, nose turned up at the rest of the world. Don’t worry. You’ll know if she hates you. You’ll know.

I think joanna would be very annoyed with Freddie. Although you mentioned "Joanna will respect, regardless of the cause, anyone who puts their all into something." and this is definitely Freddie for he lives/breathes/sleeps/eats everything that is magical creatures and he's extremely passionate about magical animals and teaching students about them so she would at least respect him for that... but he's also quirky and all over the place and really has no boundaries so in that respect i think that she would probably be among the many who think of him as a clumsy bafoon. Although she is all brains and Freddie is all heart, I think that it could be fun to role play these two, because they're both sort of loners and outcasts in the world, but for very different reasons. I just sort of envision both of them as like the two kids who no one asks to dance at the ball and get left out, but for very different flaws in their respective personalities lol. I dunno I'm ramblin away! Let me know what you think and/or if you have any ideas!

[classy=bigtext]and celeste[/classy][classy=smalltext]vas-y, secoue-toi et danse[/classy][classy=text]so, from what I see of joanna, she probably wouldn't like celeste. read: at all. celeste is about as lazy as lazy can get, and won't try at all unless she can get some sort of amusement from it. she'd much rather spend her time playing pranks and bothering students than reading essays and grading tests. she's certainly capable of doing great things, but actually doing said great things is too much effort. they're both pretty stubborn, but celeste might find joanna's whole hard-headedness thing funny. (I don't think joanna would like being laughed at, but welp.) she wouldn't dislike joanna, it'd be more like a 'oh that silly child what is she talking about' kind of thing. cel would otherwise appreciate joanna's penchant for the extreme, but either be oblivious or just not care about the other woman's dislike.[/classy]

haha. they would get along well xD i think joanna would appreciate adrienne as a student, and probably sees a little of herself in her. she would probably be interested in helping adrienne in her future, if she could.

freddie & joanna
xD first of all, i adore freddie! such an awesome character. i think you've hit them dead on. she would be annoyed with him, but i also think she would respect his passion for his subject and i think in some odd way they would have a sort of understanding-- you said it best, never get asked to dance but for different reasons. i actually think, over time, freddie would grow on her (not that she would admit it) and he would become someone she felt protective over, especially since she sees too much heart as a weakness and vulnerability-- though he would definitely still grate her nerves. we should thread them!

i think that would probably be what got joanna the most-- is seeing the wasted potential (so SHE thinks) in celeste-- someone capable of great things and throwing that away. it would drive her insane. i imagine these two could have some wonderful banter & arguments. i could see them occasionally agreeing or being on the same side on certain issues (surprising joanna, at least) though for the most part joanna would just treat her with professional... distaste. ._. anyway, my thoughts are incoherent right now, on my way to work, but i think a thread between them could be funny/interesting!

Hey! So I was thinking, I have a thread going right now of freddie in the masquerade and celeste just joined it, so I was thinking maybe you wanted to jump in too? Could have an interesting professor dynamic going on c: also, I made the thread with freddie coming into the ball and dancing foolishly in circles around a stern professor to annoy them, something he would probably do to try and make joanna smile, maybe that could have been joanna? I don't know just a suggestion thought I'd offer for you to jump in before I write up my reply!
