TITUS ETIENNE BAUDELAIRE
when the first son of the benoit family held one of gregorovitch's wands in his hands and felt a certain warmth radiate from it, his parents smiled and told him that he was going to achieve greatness at durmstrang. he enjoyed a good seventeen years believing that he was the one and only child of the family, until his younger brother, came along. he changed during his final year at durmstrang. he had a huge row with his parents, who tried to explain that it was the firewhiskey's fault and not theirs. furious at them - and also jealous of the fact that he wasn't going to be the sole object of their attention - titus left home, and with that proclamation, changed his name to mirror his deceased friend in durmstrang.
not much else is known of titus, or the truth behind his childhood and teenage years, up until he was twenty-five or twenty-six years of age. he claims to have pursued a career in enhancing and breaking the powers of magical equipment for a while, before quitting his job to see the world. as far as the world is concerned, titus etienne baudelaire was a man who cheated death by a hair. he does not deny the fact that he has had a less-than-stellar record at durmstrang, having assaulted a student for stealing his homework -- he just does not like going into detail about it. his life eventually took a turn for the worse, and he felt ready to accept the humiliation of living life as a muggle.
he moved from france to great britain to start a new life, eventually finding a passion for liquor and bartending. he worked just enough to barely make ends meet. titus never stayed in one place for long, and moved often so people wouldn't recognize or remember him. however, ever since he skirted a little too close to the wizarding world, he found himself drawn away from the boring life of muggles and returning to the wizarding lifestyle, where he truly belongs. he now writes as a freelancer for the daily prophet, while keeping a job as a bartender by night.
friendly, sociable, yet incredibly enigmatic, titus is the type of man whom one can talk to just to kill time. it's not hard to see him smiling over the counters of the pub he works at, serving drink after drink while making small talk to keep his customers interested. on his off days, he can be seen hanging out at lounges or tea shops, enjoying great britain as each day comes. behind a pleasant exterior is a man whose anger is frozen only by the chivalry and justice he promises himself to fulfill.
titus's aggression is wont to skew towards passive-aggresiveness, and he can very well smile while containing his anger into sharp, selective words. he still holds bitterness and a grudge against his family members for betraying his trust, but he has not the same resentment towards his younger brother, whom he has deemed, by his own code of justice as innocent. his aggression is rarely shown openly, and he prefers to remain collected and compose even when he is enraged. it is all about remaining friendly in an enigmatic manner, and this game is a game titus is willing to play until the day he dies.
