As Paige Letosat had thought before she had also never seen herself wearing such a dress as she wore now. The Masquerade Ball was such a fun idea that the girl had decided to drag herself all the way to Hogsmede to get a dress at last minute, and it was absolutely stunning so to say. She'd found a mask too that seemed to fit her. Black on one side with silver glitter and swirls on each eye side then on the other side it was white with black glitter and swirls again. Two sides, like Paige. On the outside she seemed normal, if not dull at times but once you got to know her she could be a bitch, fun, or just dull. It all depended on how you acted around her. Tying the string up as she looked in the mirror at the bathroom one last time Paige took a deep breath. She felt a little lonely tonight, no date to the ball. Even if Calvin would've asked her as going just as friends would've made her feel the least bit nervous. She wasn't supposed to get like this but rumor had it that both her brothers had dates and so did Calvin. A seventh year Ravenclaw girl with perfect height, hair and eyes. She needed to think of how to try and win him over, if he had ever seen her that way. Paige could try and be sexy like a few other girls but that just wasn't her. Sure at a good party when she got a little tipsy she'd be one to dance on the table and grind against you maybe or a good friend and her would get it on on the dance floor occasionally. She figured that her best friend Angel would have a dance too. Paige had always been a little jealous of Angel, who could walk perfectly in heels probably and looked flawless in anything. Now pulling at the sides of her deep green dress Paige glanced around awkwardly as she tried to keep her calm. No one else was in the bathroom as far as she could tell, there was a puke stain that had happened probably five minutes before she'd been here but that was the only sign of life. The cracked mirror and old stalls always worried Paige. How old was it all anyways and what kind of germs crawled around here? Taking one last glance in the mirror then pursing her lips as if she were going to kiss someone the girl headed out, smiling a bit as she did so and tried to keep her cool. Her hair was arranged around her shoulders in delicate curls like usual and her dress fell just an inch above her knee, the sleeves went to about her elbow and the back of the dress fell to her mid-calf. Paired together were some black earrings and black three inch heels. Would Angel approve of her outfit like she had with so many more? Being the rebel that she was Paige always wore her boots to classes that went to the knee, barely seeing her gray high socks above them and her skirt always hiked up away above her knees but still being able to not see her butt fully. Luckily she wore her cloak a lot too and her tie was almost always untucked. Maybe she was the girl version of James Potter or Sirius Black but Paige didn't have a problem with causing trouble here or there. It was fun! Walking into the room she was suddenly taken aback by how well they had made it up into. Gold decorated surfaces, reminding Paige to quickly pull her mask down as she tied it stiffly behind her head then let a small smile creep up her lips. This was perfect. Looking across the room she saw Angel standing alone in a mask and dress as well looking stunning as usual. She was nervous of course but walked over there without tripping then gave her friend a big hug. "No date?" Paige questioned with a raised eyebrow then smiled at her, showing some teeth and wondering if Angel knew it was her.

Angelique finished polishing her look as she slipped the final pin into her raven black hair. So many girls were curling there hair and doing half ups, but she chose to go with a french twist, and just curl some soft loose strands in the front. She smiled, looking over herself in the mirror. Angelique was a slender young woman. Her hair was black as the midnight sky, and her eyes were a beautiful shade of blue-green. Her skin was a beautiful milky ivory with a confidant glow. She was a regular snow white.. minus the prince and castle. She never needed a prince anyways. She'd always been an independent and strong young woman with a love for life and living every minute of it. While others worried about school and how they'd make an impression on there peers she was worrying about other things. Like how she could sneak out at night or what she could put on that gits chair that sat in front of her in potions to mess with him. Basically way of getting in trouble here and there every so often. Yes, she was known for being in detention, but it was always just more entertaining for the professors. To there delight, at least she was only ever a minor distraction and offender. She just liked to mess with people in an old fashion class clown sort of way. She made her way to the masquerade ball, entering alone. She didn't feel awkward by any means. She was always the type to be able to walk in the room last minute with a spring in her step and a smile on her face. She wore a beautiful, short, off white dress. Her heels were golden with peacock feathers on them. She held a white and golden clutch with a peacock feather fashioned onto it. To top it all off, she wore an extraordinarily decorated mask with ornate feathers, glitter, ribbons, and jewels. She looked around the room trying to find a familiar face in a very unfamiliar sea of masks. Suddenly however; she was pulling into the clutches of another for an affectionate hug. She thrown of for a moment, unsure who was hugging her and gave a cautious hug in return. But, when she heard the girl's voice speak she knew too well who it was. She returned the smile. "I would've brought a date, but I'm afraid He would have keeled over and died of a heart attack after seeing all this," She replied with a smirk as she began posing jokingly. "Who knows, maybe we'll see someone good looking enough. If not, at least we all have masks," She said with a small laugh. "You look great, Paige! So, no date for you either?" She asked, quite surprised to see no guys fawning over her dear friend. She walked over, and poured a punch for her and her friend before returning back to where her friend stood. "Well," She said, taking a sip of the punch befo0re setting it down on a table next to them," I have something to make tonight entertaining for us." She smirked, opening her purse, and pulling out as vile filled with a white powder that the two were all too familiar with. "A little itching powder may push those stuffy slytherins over there to bust a few moves.." she snicked, as she hid the vile back in her purse and looked around to make sure no one noticed her with it. "You game, my friend?" She said, smiling mischievously. Tags: paige | Words: 593 | Credit: 156zcm of CautionNotes: squee, mischief. (x |

Paige smiled as she talked to Angelique. The girl had been there for her always, Paige had always admired that fact and always the tint of jealous actions had never arose in her. Angel was so comforting at times, but just as evil as Paige could easily be at others. Together the girls were infinite, nothing could stop them really. They were like modern day superheros if you thought about it. Angel could beat any guy up with her good looks distracting them, she'd have on some killer boots while doing so too of course. Then there was Paige who would probably distract them with her speaking ways or flirt a bit, then choke them. So, maybe not the most likely way of superheros. Maybe they were more the villain, besides it was fun being mean sometimes. Maybe a little too fun. Paige had bullied before but it never really bothered her all that much. Just little things like telling the first years the wrong way after they were already confused enough, or once she'd replaced some pumpkin pasties with rotten pumpkin and the elves had allowed it. That had been the best since that night anyone who ate a pastie was immediately sick and in bed for the next three days to a good two weeks. Classes were cut short for five days, giving Paige freedom to roam and run away from any suspecting professors in the meantime. She had never really been caught doing stuff like this, they just too one look at her near perfect grades and figured it wasn't here. Besides, with an innocent face like Paige's no one would guess a thing. She was a Gryffindor and they weren't always nice, no one was as perfect as they appeared. Not even those little Hufflepuff kids. Paige hated Hufflepuff's for some reason, they just annoyed her. They were like cartoon characters that smiled and laughed at everything, always having nothing go wrong of course. She couldn't bare the sight of them really, yet she was ever so nice to never speak to them. That would make matters worse. "Hm...I don't think there's anyone hotter than Calvin tonight," Paige spoke as she saw the boy dancing with his partner, the perfect Ravenclaw girl. "But it looks like he's taken," Paige added as Angelique went off to grab punch and returned with two full glasses. She knew everything about Paige, even the fact that she was totally in love with a boy she couldn't have just yet. Why'd people always fall in love before she got a chance to say anything? He was perfect with his curly dark hair and dimples when he smiled, but he looked like he only wanted to be friends with Paige through all the conversations they'd had. It seemed he was only comfortable with her that way sadly and she had no way to do that. Angel could help but sometimes she wasn't the best with boy issues, it wasn't easy for her since she could be so awkward. Taking the punch from Angel she sipped it, listening to her friend talk while she kept her eyes on all the action. The Marauders and Paige would be holding a prank tonight, it'd be great. "Hm?" Paige asked, having spaced out as she retraced Angel's words. "Oh, well....maybe later. I know there's something big coming soon. Like, a speech or something you know," Paige lied with a flourish of her hand as she looked at the dance floor again, the envy in her eyes showed.

Angelique knew what Calvin meant to Paige. It was written all over her face, and to see her friend longing made her wish she could help her. No one ever wanted to see someone so near and dear to them hurting, and with Paige she was practically family. It killed her. She sighed looking at the girl," She's much like white rice. You can put sauce and seasoning on it, but underneath it's bland and tasteless. Please, he's missing out on what is clearly the greatest girl. But, boys often need to see what's wrong for them to understand what's right. Time will show him. Just enjoy the moments until then, 'cause I have no doubt in my mind he'll be yours soon enough," She said with a confident smile. "And honestly-- if it makes you feel better.. I've been setting my sights a little closer than expected."
"Remus is..." She said, but trailed off with a smile as she looked down at the ground somewhat shyly. She wasn't usually the time to feel bashful for a guy, but she couldn't help herself. "He's an amazing.. friend." She said, though she knew she felt more than that. He was an amazing, intelligent, kind person however; she was never one to let herself become too emotionally attached to a man. It was too easy to set herself up for failure, so why not just enjoy guys as a fly by night fling? Well, maybe it wasn't her favorite philosophy, but it had long shielded herself from what she called an 'inevitable truth' that most guys would leave in the end despite any other thoughts she had. No ifs ands or but... Or at least she thought so. Maybe she could be wrong? She silently hoped so..
"I'm not even sure what brought him up, but--" She tried to think quickly of how to get off of the subject. "Sooo, they're having something big ay? By big you mean.. that special surprise from you and the guys?" She said in a whisper to her friend. "You guys are still doing something aren't you?"
