Classes for the day were over and for one easily distracted Paige Letosat this may have been the best thing for her easily lazy day. She'd had a free period this morning before all her classes in which the sixth year girl had used to be able to sleep in extra late and just skip breakfast, that hadn't been the best idea judging by the fact at lunch the only thing she'd done was eat and eat and eat some more. Now she felt sick and was just waiting for her buttons to pop off her shirt. That'd be embarrassing and Paige hated being humiliated in large crowds of people, even with those closest to her like her friend Lily Evans right now.
Lily was a sweet girl, maybe a bit of a goody two shoes but Paige could look over that factor and just think of all the things Lily had helped her with. Lily had helped Paige when she'd needed to get homework done fast and had even covered up for her so the girl didn't get detention with the Potions Master who everyone hated. His breath nearly always smelled like artichoke, which was a good thing to eat but not something you wanted to smell throughout your whole two hours of practical Hell. It was easy to say that the girl wasn't a big fan of potions either, in fact she was rather picky with the things she liked. Paige liked tea, sometimes or would have hot cocoa. She liked the idea actually of having a hot drink right now, too bad there wasn't a Hogsmede trip tonight. The night trips were always the best, especially the one time she'd accidentally on purpose gotten drunk and totally made out with the new Slytherin captain. She'd dumped him the next day of course, telling him it had all been fake and nothing that night had been real. He was stupid enough to believe her and she could still just live happily with thoughts of Calvin in her head. At least Elvy and Jamison hadn't hear about that otherwise they'd tease her about it forever. She loved her brothers dearly but sometimes they needed to back off.
Listening to one of the younger Ravenclaw girls beside her rant on and on about how important Herbology might be, Paige didn't really care at the moment. All she wanted was some good food and a talk with some friends too. Maybe she could convince James and Sirius to help her sneak in some firewhiskey and they could throw a party tonight for no apparent reason. Paige always liked getting a little frazzled or drunk on a good Friday night, it was when all the partying in the older dorms happened and the first years were ushered into their beds. So were the third and second years, sometimes the fourth depending on the house. Of course being a Gryffindor was the best in her opinion, the kids always included you but not in a way that Hufflepuff students might. More so that they would take you under their wing and show you all about everything that was going to be going on, telling you what was right and what wasn't. How to do this or how to do that and make a good impression. As a first year Paige had always been a little awkward but then she slowly decided to be daring and had started to follow older kids out late, soon being invited to many things with them. One time, as a second year, they'd gotten her out of detention and into Hogsmede with them. All the kids were either in their seventh year but most had graduated and only light owls kept them in touch every so often. It sort of hurt her to not talk to them anymore, since Paige herself found kids to be just annoying.
"Lily!" Paige yelled as she saw a flash of red from across the staircase, running down the sixth flight to meet her at the large panel as the stair moved and Paige groaned. "Lilllyyyy!" She yelled louder, extending each letter long and ushering the girl over. Still no response so she walked a few steps up. "Evans! I am having a slight girl problem and you need to come over here right now before there is blood everywhere!" Paige yelled and many people turned to stare as she smiled politely and didn't blush a bit.
