ANASTASIA NIKOLETTE KOHL
Antoinette Anastasia Karv was born on a snowy night in Berlin. The parents to the beautiful baby girl were called Nikolette and Khol Karv. Nikolette and Khol were both very young, only seventeen, and had no money. They came from a farm town in the German country side, and were raised as neighbors and best friends. Over the years, they fell in love. When Nikolette found out she was pregnant, the couple eloped and relocated to Berlin. Nikolette was heartbroken to leave her family, but Khol promised her a great life. As terrified as they felt, they were ecstatic to find out they would be having a girl. Their teeny apartment suddenly became full of pink things, and they settled on the name Antoinette.
Because of their sudden relocation, they knew nobody in the great big city. The only friends they made were living across the hall, Holden and Kara. The couple had lived in Berlin their whole lives, but were moving to London soon, so they decided to rent a cheap apartment for a few months. Kara was ten years older than Nikolette, and found out she could not have children. Though jealous, Kara was happy for her friend, and wished she could be around to see Antoinette grow up.
Nikolette began having contractions almost two months early. The doctors told her over the phone that they were Braxton Kicks, and it was totally normal. However, they were wrong. Nikolette went into labor at 2:02 am, and after a rushed hospital visit, Antoinette was born at 3:01. Because of the was Antoinette had been positioned, they preformed a C-section. Nikolette died three minutes after the baby was born due to complications.
Kara, Holden and Khol were anxiously waiting, and when the doctor brought them the news, they could hardly believe it. Khol held his baby girl for the first and last time that night. He looked at her, but all he could see was Nikolette. The sleeping child was passed to Kara after a few moments, and he named them Antoinette's legal guardian. He knew he couldn't handle raising her on his own, or the constant pain of seeing his late wife's face.
Kara and Holden offered to stay, to let Khol be a part of his daughter's life, but he declined. Khol told them he was moving back home, and that he never wanted to see Antoinette again, even suggesting they changed her name. Though he later regretted this decision, he never sought her out. Once in London, all three legally changed their last names, as well as Antoinette's first and middle.
On March 12th, she became Anastasia Nikolette Khol, born to Kara and Holden Khol out of respect for her parents. Ana was never told of her true parentage, and her parents even resembled her. They were a happy family. However, Ana was always different. Unlike a normal child, her temper tantrums could make things happen. Her parents disregarded it, and with age it seemed to go away. Sometimes things would just happen to Ana, with no explanation at all. It all began to make sense when Ana's Hogwarts letter in the mail. Though surprised and a little shocked, her parents were supportive.
Finding out that Ana was a witch only made Kara and Holden more curious as to what else they didn't know about their strange little girl. They always loved her, though. Khol eventually moved to Aachen, Germany and became a stock broker. He became quite wealthy, and married a nice Aryan girl named Kathrine. Together they had two children, both boys. He never told his new wife about Nikolette or Antoinette. As much as he loved his two boys, he never stopped wondering about the little girl from Berlin.
Anastasia has always felt a little lost. No matter what she's done, or where she's been, she's always felt slightly out of place. It was never an overwhelming feeling, just something in the back of her mind that never went away. Because both of her parents were from Germany, German is her native language. She speaks with a slight accent, and occasionally will make grammatical mistakes. Ana is something of a free spirit. She lives her life simply one step after another, bumping into things and acquiring bruises as she goes. She falls down and gets right back up.
Ana is beautiful, and has been treated as such her whole life. She has a kind of doe-eyed thing going for her, and such an innocent face. Although she's quite naive, she isn't stupid. In fact, she has quite a high intelligence level. She could have outstanding marks in all of her classes, but she'd rather be free than studying. The grounds would beat the library any day. Her favorite subject is charms, and she loves writing. Ana's greatest desire is to be free, though she does not know from what. Mostly, she wants to be free from responsibility.
You could even go as far as to say that Ana is a hippie, who's main goal is just to be happy. The only thing distinguishing Ana from a hippie is the fact that she is selfish when it comes to love, and otherwise. Ana believes that love is real, but almost impossible to find. Self love is much more important to her than loving others, making it difficult for her to be in a romantic relationship.
Ana is silly, and is often described as childlike or animated. People would have a hard time taking her seriously, though she doesn't often give them reason to. She is friendly, though she resents when people taking advantage of that kindness. The only time she truly gets angry is when people harass her. Usually kind and sweet, Ana can get be very feisty. Bravery is not her strongest suit, she has many fears, rational and not.
