Alice,Not a single professor has threatened me with remedial classes yet, so that's something, right?
Finally made the Quidditch team -- I might have seen you at the trials? -- and I didn't even break an arm and three ribs this time. Might be something worth celebrating? The Ravenclaw team doesn't stand a chance this year -- not that they did last year, or the year before, ad infinitum. Everyone seems to think that Hart is the best Captain we've had since the first World War.
How have you been? I hope you haven't tried any acid pops lately. Sorry about that -- honest mix-up.
We should get together soon -- haven’t seen you since the year began celebrate the start of a new year, maybe?

Rhys, Yeah, that is good. I haven't been bombarded with homework yet so I guess we're both well. Haha, good job on making the team. I'm a beater for the Ravenclaw team, hope to someday be a captain. Oh, and you're just making a fool of yourself thinking that Slytherin actually has a chance against us. Ha! World War you say? That's...wow. Well, good luck I guess. Maybe you will break a few ribs this year with me as a beater. -wink- I've been fine. Just a little lonely and thinking a lot about...stuff and homework and a boy. Yes, a boy. Hang out? Like...a date? With love, Alice Jane Cauldwell

Alice,
You’re a beater? You’re too small
Can't say I was expecting to find that at the end of your last letter. It would be a pleasure. There’s a Hogsmeade trip scheduled for next weekend – did you have something specific in mind? That tea shop, maybe?

Rhys,I am not too small! You'll take that back when we beat you in the first game we play against each other. The tea shop? I didn't know you liked tea. I was thinking maybe the Three Broomsticks...butterbeer and chat. Tea is alright too! You can make the final descion. Hm...anything else new? I'm already eager for the Christmas holiday to begin...this wait is killing me already. I just want snow and snowball fights...maybe a snowman. --Alice

Alice,We’ll see about that. I'll be impressed if you can pick the bat up.
Three Broomsticks sounds excellent – I’ll see you around two in the afternoon, then? Where better to fraternize with the enemy?
Don’t be too eager to hurry the year along – I have O.W.L.S waiting for me at the end of it. Do you go home during break?

Rhys, I'll beat you with that bat once I pick it up. You'll be sorry you ever said anything.
Yay! Butterbeer is much better than tea if you don't mind me saying.
O.W.L exams have been a good topic of discussion through the older kids I hang out with. I don't really care at the moment, I hope they're a challenge compared to everything else we have as homework.
I don't know what I'll be doing for the holiday. I think I'll stay here unless something comes up. What're you doing?
Uhm...I was sort of wondering if you wanted to go to the Masquerade Ball with me. That is, if you don't already have a date. I feel desperate for asking because usually it's the boy but...I'll stop talking now. -Alice
