rhys aelian anders ❖ fifth-year ❖ Slytherin ❖ application— Clever, lazy, arrogant, and a bit of a bully, Rhys Anders is the one who’ll give a first-year candy one day and hex them the next, and he’ll do it all with a smile. He’s muggle-born, but because of his house he definitely doesn’t advertise it – if anyone from Slytherin asks, he’ll claim to be a half-blood. Friendship→ Rhys will likely have few close friends – it’s not in his nature to be emotionally attached to that many people – but those few that he has he values. → Co-conspirators? Pair him with anyone sharing his warped sense of humor, and it likely won’t be pretty for their victims. → He may have a wider circle of people he’s at least on friendly terms with, especially if they drop a compliment his way every once in a while; he thrives on attention. → He’ll go out of his way to try and stay on good terms with fellow Slytherins – no point in feuding with the same people he lives and learns with – but there are likely a few exceptions to this. Loathing→ He thinks he’s pretty hilarious. Anyone with some decency or anyone who has been on the receiving end of a “joke” likely disagrees. → It’s his first year as a Slytherin Beater, and Quidditch is one of the few pursuits he takes seriously. He might take a stab at faking sportsmanship before a game, but he has no love for his opponents, and they may return the sentiment. → Rhys is deaf. He relies on lip-reading to communicate with others – and he’s excellent at it -- but he hates anyone who stammers, mutters, or otherwise has such poor pronunciation that he can’t understand what they’re saying. He’ll go out of his way to cause trouble for anyone falling in this category. Other → Professors: Rhys is a habitual underachiever in most of his classes (excepting Transfiguration and Arithmancy), and though he’s always managed to scrape a passing grade at the end of the year, it probably hasn’t been pleasant for either he or the teacher. → Romantic relationships, past or present are unlikely but not impossible. Any relationships he has had probably haven’t lasted that long: maybe he found a girl attractive and asked her out, and maybe they had the requisite dates at Madam Puddifoot’s or picnics by the Lake or whatever else, but he’s too in love with himself to fall in love with someone else. → If you see the opportunity for any sort of relationship that I haven’t mentioned, or a variation of any that I have, please let me know! These were only meant to be suggestions and conversation-starters and I’m interested in any sort of plot that we can come up with. c: Thanks for reading!

Hhmm... I'm not really sure how Mirren would feel about him... She's a year older and in Ravenclaw, so I don't know how much attention she would pay him. Maybe he tried to flirt with her once and she didn't realize it (she doesn't catch onto stuff like that fast xD ) and ended up kinda blowing him off so that pissed him off?

I'm feeling a love/hate relationship between Bells and Rhys. Bella would definitely look down on him for being a Half-blood, but she would also enjoy his sick sense of humor which probably matches her own so I could see them teaming up from time to time to torture the younger students. Due to his being of lesser blood status though I feel like Bells would pick on him as well just not as badly as she does on everyone else - so maybe a prank war between the two? - and as for any kind of romance - yeah well Bella doesn't love others, but she's always up for using them, so maybe something to do with that?

I can see James constantly picking on his because he's a Slytherin. I wouldn't say he's mean enough to make fun of the fact that Rhys is deaf...but I definitely think James and Rhys wouldn't get along, haha. There's the whole Quidditch rivalry, too!

We already have the whole Olivia/Corny/Rhys thing sort of figured out. He lies and says he's a half-blood,right? Maybe Olivia knows the truth and promises to keep it a secret. Something to add to the plot!

Sorry I haven't been quick to respond -- I've been a bit under the weather since Sunday evening. Thank you very much for posting, though. c: I'm definitely looking forward to roleplaying. Miss FeyI can definitely see that ticking Rhys off. Their interactions would be limited because of year/House difference, but any time they were around each other, he'd probably pester her with increasingly less and less subtle ploys for attention, to the point where it would be less because he found her attractive and more because of a "challenge accepted" mentality. I got the impression that she does her best to stay under the radar at Hogwarts, so I'm guessing that her dance aspirations aren't widely known? Miss BlackHis sense of humor might not, on average, quite match hers, but the two of them working together to ruin some unfortunate’s day would definitely bring out the worst in him. He certainly wouldn’t appreciate Bella scorning him over blood status, but since they’re in the same year he’d at least be able to stand his ground whenever her malice turned to him. Despite all his attempts at suaveness, Rhys doesn’t have much experience with girls, so if there was going to be any sort of purely physical relationship between them Bellatrix would likely have to initiate it. plus Slytherin girls are terrifying. So… sort-of love/hate indeed. I’m considering making an open thread over the weekend, probably in the Slytherin common room, so that might be a place to get started, unless you’d maybe like to start a thread/have something else in mind? Mr. PotterWhat with House rivalry, Quidditch competition, and just the fact that they probably can’t stand each other, there’s definitely no love lost between these two. Rhys would definitely not appreciate tbeing the victim instead of the tormenter, but seeing as James is a year older and thus a superior wizard, there wouldn't be much he could do about it except enjoy the opportunity to send a few Bludgers James's way. xD Miss AubreyMakes sense to me, especially if they met early on – he wouldn’t have yet known that being a muggle-born was something to be ashamed of. I’d best go post on Corny’s plot-thread while I’m thinking about it and see if it flies with Robin. c: Gracias.

I have Victoria Isobel Lennox. She is muggleborn but super freakin rich, her whole family is lol. She is a year older and in Ravenclaw so I don't honestly know what could go on between them. Maybe he flirts with her because he finds her attractive idk lol but she wouldn't find his humor amusing at all lol. Kayla Benson is a pureblood witch who married a muggleborn. Sadly he died but she has two children who are first years this year. She is the muggle studies professor so I doubt he would take her class. She could always have to be giving him detention in the halls though or something lol and that would probably def. piss him off. add or deleate

Sounds fantastic. Do you want to start a thread somewhere? Perhaps the Quidditch Pitch?

Miss Lennox && Professor BensonYeah, the difference in house/year is a little prohibitive, but that's a possibility. Obviously Rhys has something for the Ravenclaw ladies. I read on her plot-thread that she gets flustered and stammers when guys flirt with her, though, so that would more or less kill his interest. For Kayla, that about sums up their possible interactions. xD I doubt he'd be able to weasel out of a detention with her.
Honestly, there might not be a lot of interaction possible between these characters, but I've basically been stalking the "VALVAL NEEDS" thread. If/when I get to the point where I can balance school and roleplaying with ease, I'll probably apply for one of your needed characters. c:
Mr. PotterSure! It might take me a few days, but it shall be done. c: I'm lookin' forward to it.

Abbie and Rhys? I'm not sure how they would feel about each other, perhaps they could be friends, but Abbie is constantly nagging him for his misbehaving and he teases her for being such a goody goody? Also they are quidditch rivals. Friends? Love-hate kinda thing?
