Joseph Ryan Tanner
Joseph Ryan was a born to muggle parents Avery and Ryan Tanner on Dec 1. The Tanners were a perfectly normal American family who had not seen a wizard in their line four three generations and were happy to say so, not wanting to be dragged into that frightening other world where they were powerless. Joseph was loved by his family and enjoyed a happy life- that is, until his powers became evident. His parents were bitterly disapointed, frightened, even angry, and the young boy could not understand why the blame was his.
At age 10 the young wizard was sent off to an orphanage in England, far away from his home. After one year at Hogwarts Josephs personality and talents where evident; He was brilliant, clever, talented (especially in the dark arts), and charming to those he liked; Intimidating to those he didn't. He hated muggles, stupid and cowardly like his parents, and anyone who liked them. He was adopted that summer by a pureblood witch who was entranced by his wit, skill, and charm to the point of disregarding his blood. He then regarded himself as pureblood, and his prejudice and ego heightened.
He went through school successfully, popular amongst his Slytherin house mates, but feared and despised by many others, and graduated top of his class. Soon after, Joseph joined a group called "Death Eaters" to aid the young Lord Voldemort in his rise to power. Skilled at Occulemency, clever, and powerful, the Dark Lord took a liking to him, but his motives were much more than simple loyalty to his 'master'. He was working for his own gain, hoping to be in favor when the Dark Lord came to full power and to get revenge on the muggles and mud bloods who were unworthy to call themselves his equals.
Selfish, clever, cynical, talented, strong, and brave are some of Josephs defining characteristics. He has very few friends, and not one that he would risk a single thing for. He is cruel, bitter, and selfish, scarred by his mistreatment and abandonment as a child.
He despises being called by his middle name, and absolutely hates feeling out of control or inferior; He simply won't have it. In short, he is fearless, dangerous, and not one to cross.
