the applications for these abilities apply only to adult characters. as the site expands, more numbers means there will be more openings for abilities. we'd just like to keep a relatively realistic ratio. there are limited numbers of creatures since they are rather rare in the wizarding world, but this is subject to change with growth of the site. in order to have your character be accepted for the specific ability you are applying for, your application will have to be quite good. abilities are not the coolest thing in the world so don't feel the need to be upset if your character doesn't have one of these abilities. abilities are limited to 1 per character! please use the form below in order to apply for an ability. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ THEIR DESCRIPTIONS BEFORE APPLYING!

WEREWOLF
The werewolf is a most unusual creature in that it doesn't technically exist except for a brief period of time around the full moon. At any other time, a werewolf is a completely normal human. A werewolf comes into being when a person is bitten by another werewolf. Once this happens, the person must learn to manage the condition. Modern potion-making has come up with a draught called Wolfsbane Potion which controls some of the worst effects of the condition. Wolfsbane Potion is quite difficult to make, even for fully qualified wizards, and is said to have a rather disgusting taste. Nothing will completely cure a werewolf, unfortunately. A werewolf when transformed is a fearsome beast indeed. All trace of human awareness is gone and the werewolf will attack any witch or wizard, including the werewolf's best friends. This transformation is triggered when the moon is full, although there is some evidence that a werewolf who is taking a regular regimen of Wolfsbane Potion will not transform until the moonlight actually strikes him. VAMPIRE
vampires are not considered wizards by the ministry of magic, and generally looked down upon in wizarding society (source) . vampires need blood to survive, it can be taken from any living thing, though the blood of a human is most satisfying. vampires need to feed at least once a week to keep themselves alive, but to keep themselves strong at least twice a week. vampires are technically dead, upon being bitten, one transforms into a vampire by dying. you can place an age upon them for how long they've been roaming the earth, but they remain the appearance of the age they were when they were bitten. vampires do not have reflections in mirrors, are weakened in the presence of garlic (significantly), but can only be killed severing of their head and/or limbs. they are affected by magic cast upon them though a killing spell like avada kedavra will not kill them, since they are technically already dead. vampires can be easily warded off with enough garlic stench surrounding the area.

VEELA
full veelas are considered magical creatures who throw handfuls of fire when angry and have large wings. however part veelas, appear human, and usually have none of the drastic physical traits of veelas besides being particularly beautiful, like fleur delacour (SOURCE).
ANIMAGUS
animagi are wizards who have the ability to transform into an animal while retaining a human brain. this is a very difficult form of transfiguration to master and is rather rare in the wizarding world (source). animgi are registered with the ministry of magic though some are not (such as the marauders).

METAMORPHMAGUS
metamorphmagi are born with the ability to change their appearance at will. this trait cannot be taught to a witch or wizard and is only a trait of those born with it. this is a very quality to have in the wizarding world. the trait does not have to be passed down from parents, it is not inherited, simply acquired randomly at birth.
OCCLUMENS
occlumency is the art of magically defending the mind against external penetration, sealing it against magical intrusion and influence (source). the skill of Occlumency allows a person to block the efforts of a legilimens to probe their thoughts and memories. A person who practices this rare skill is called an occlumens. as stated, this is a very rare ability to acquire since it is very difficult to be taught. wizards are not usually capable of developing this skill until they are roughly over 18 years of age.

LEGILIMENS
A Legilimens is a Wizard who has learned the art of Legilimency, sensing the thoughts of another person. voldemort is an accomplished legilimens but much like occlumency it requires great skill from a wizard to learn it and they would have to have magical competence over seventh year. therefore, once again, it would not make sense for any student at hogwarts to have this ability, although they may acquire it with much work after graduating.

SEER
another rare gift is the inner eye, the ability to prophesy. a wizard or witch with this gift is called a seer. seers have the ability to be overcome by another worldly force and make prediction for the future. there are certain degrees to which one has seer-like capabilities. for instance, sybill trelawney is a mild seer, making few prophecies in her life although seeming to have an other worldly connection.

I am definitely tired of struggling to find relevant and intelligent commentary on this subject. Everyone nowadays seem to go to extremes to either drive home their viewpoint or suggest that everybody else in the globe is wrong.
