Keira walked along the streets of Diagon Alley, looking like any other shopper who was there to probably get some magical supplies for themselves. Her face, though, did not show the happy contentment that theirs did. Instead, she was barely smiling, her eyes almost blank, her glare icy cold. This was the happiest she could get while on a mission for the Dark Lord.
Yes, the Dark Lord had given the Death Eaters the task of attacking Diagon Alley, and the innocent people who were shopping in the stores. Keira didn’t really have a problem with attacking, because she usually refrained from using the Killing Curse when the Dark Lord instructed them to ‘attack’. But this would be the first time she’d be causing some sort of mayhem in Diagon Alley, and it just didn’t feel right.
How many long hours has she spent along this very narrow road, excitedly peeping through every shop as she begged her parents to get her the best of everything? She passed by Ollivander’s and winced. The wand shop. The place she had gotten her wand, which was, to date, her best companion in times of need. And then she past by Eeylops Owl Emporium, and bit her lip. She had bought her pet cat Leo from this very place, and had promptly stood in front of the store sobbing and acting like a spoiled brat to get the cat.
Keira stopped short and just sat heavily on the bench that she spotted, breathing heavily. She had to calm down and pull herself together. Merlin, she could be really sensitive and sentimental for a heartless Death Eater. She had to do this, else the Dark Lord would gladly finish her off for good. And that wasn’t what Keira wanted.
With a deep breath, Keira got up again, and walked till she reached Gambol and Japes, and stationed herself right next to Andy Coleman, the big man whom she hated almost as much as Joseph Tanner and had spotted Charlie with her once. Without even a proper greeting, she crossed her arm and turned away from, waiting for a signal from one of the Death Eaters on the other side of the road. It was the first time the Death Eaters were going to attack the Diagon Alley, and all of them were cautious.
With a short, subtle yet well-recognised signal from the Death Eater, all hell broke loose. Death Eaters sprouted out of nowhere, surprising even Keira, who was trying to attack people with much less horrifying curses than her fellow Death Eaters. The shoppers had started to run for their lives by then already – some fought back, some ran for cover. All Keira hoped was that this would be over soon. She wanted to honestly stop being the cruel freak that she was, stop being a Death Eater, and lead a normal life. She wanted to be invisible.

charlie left the dark shadows of knockturn alley in which he was always immersed, and made his way for diagon alley. it was such a pleasant place it was hard to believe that just around the corner was the mayhem that was knockturn alley. entering diagon alley was like walking into a bright light he had rarely experienced. he made a mental note to himself to wander these streets more often. sure, there wasn't much he needed in diagon alley, but boy was it a refreshing place to be. everyone in the place seemed to be joyful and pleasant, it was the complete opposite of knockturn alley. charlie happily made his way into eeylops owl emporium picking up some owl treats for his tawny owl, nixon. he imagined that during the start of the hogwarts school year all of these shops were much more heavily populated.
when he came back outside, he decided to next visit gambol and japes. he was going to get a present for his niece mirren fey to send to hogwarts. there ought to be some kind of practical joke gizmo in there to entertain her. the shop was occupied with some young children, probably too young to be at hogwarts, because they were all accompanied by their parents. charlie browsed the shelves, suddenly feeling very old and very out of place. he had spent so much of his time in knockturn alley that the vibrant colors of the joke shop were something he rarely saw. he was used to the dingy wooden walls of his bar.
charlie stopped just in front of the window that looked out on to diagon alley. he saw a display of dr. filibuster's fabulous wet-start, no-Heat fireworks. he picked up the box, surveying it in his hands and decided against it. nah, perhaps too dangerous. he didn't want to get his niece expelled for merlin's sake. charlie's dark eyes darted to the window for a second, then back to the fireworks display. a second was all it took. charlie noticed something. he did a double take, looking back out the window again on to the streets of diagon alley. he saw three figures, two in front of gambol and jape's, the other on the other side of the road.
suddenly charlie was in the mind-set of an auror again. it was as though it was a quality that ran through the blood in his veins. he couldn't turn it off. he watched them closely, his eyes narrowed slightly. behavior: suspicious, certainly. they weren't shopping or peeking in windows or happily striding down the way. they were standing still. almost at attention. they were preparing. but for what? charlie couldn't help but analyze his surroundings. there were children all over this store. more in the streets. families. he prayed desperately that he was over analyzing the situation. he hoped it was just that he had been too long out of the field and had become paranoid.
then suddenly, like a flash of lightning, death eaters sprouted out of everywhere. charlie was one of the best aurors in new york. that was not paranoia he had just experienced. it was seasoned intuition. this was an attack and it was happening now. charlie dropped the bag of owl treats in his hand and instantly snatched up his wand.
everyone move to the back of the store! get away from the windows and door! now! move! charlie instructed to the innocent shop goers who instantly panicked. parents had their wands drawn, standing in front of their children, but they listened, moving away. charlie felt like he was back in the field again, but the only difference was, he was alone. and not just taking on your average law breakers, but these were skilled death eaters. joseph tanner was probably among them, he thought. he ran toward the exit of the shop and left. he closed the door behind him and began creating a shield charm over the place. it was the best he could do with what little time he had to react, the death eaters were everywhere.
charlie turned to face the street when suddenly a death eater had apparated right in front of his nose. charlie had the reflexes of a trained professional. expelliarmus! he didn't even have to think about it for a second. the death eater was still put off by having just apparated and hadn't expected to be instantly attacked. the death eaters were supposed to easily be running the show on this one anyhow. the wizard's wand flew from his hand. and charlie caught it in mid air, pocketing it. the wizard snarled and apparated away again, but not before using wandless magic to send a cauldron flying towards his head. charlie ducked, maneuvering to dodge it successfully. he had no idea where that cauldron had come from. probably some innocent shopper. charlie looked around seeing people getting attacked left and right. he would do anything and everything to save as many as possible.
that's when charlie spotted her. keira robinson. his heart sank, but he knew that if the situation required it, he would hex her into oblivion. he had to. she was attacking innocent people, albeit with much less violent curses than her comrades, but attacking nonetheless. charlie wouldn't stand for it under any circumstances. the closest people charlie could protect, a small family keira stood before, hesitating to cast something upon them. it was clear she didn't want to be doing it anymore than charlie wanted to stop her. he instantly dashed over, placing himself in between keira and the closest family. his wand was at the ready. i can't let you do that keira he said softly, his eyes locked on the stunning blonde who, once again, in charlie's opinion, looked out of place in her current profession.

Why, why in the world was it so hard for the bloody oaf of a Death Eater named Andy Coleman to move his arse out of her way and go attack people elsewhere?! It seemed as if he was determined to stick to her side, to watch her attack others so that he could just confirm whether she was really hurting the innocents. How sadistic of that idiot. When it got to the point where he was merely blocking her way and acting as a hindrance, she stopped short and glared at him. “Do you want to get out of the way or do you want me to hex your arse off?!” she yelled in the midst of the fight. That did the trick, because the next thing she knew, Andy had swiftly moved out of her way.
Smirking to herself, she continued swishing her wand around, attacking as many people as she could. Which was not that hard, since with the sudden attack, people were going crazy with panic. It seemed as if everybody had deemed Diagon Alley very safe, and the unexpected attack seemed to be a little too unexpected. Though she felt bad for most of them, Keira couldn’t help but feel exasperated. Honestly, now that they knew Voldemort was on the rise, shouldn’t they be extra cautious, ready to fight back, and defend their family and the rest of the community? It was shocking to Keira, how people were literally fleeing in abandon, not giving a second glance to any others. And she was thinking that she was the most self-centered person in the world.
Well, in a way, she was. She was the one who was attacking them to save herself from the Dark Lord.
She had just disarmed a group of adults and sent them flying to the other end of the narrow street, when she caught a glimpse of the man. She couldn’t really see his face, thanks to the hoard of people constantly running all around trying to save themselves. He was skilfully fighting back, protecting the rest of the crowd, almost as if he was an Auror. And if he was, she shouldn’t be surprised – the ministry just might have sent Aurors disguised as civilians to patrol the streets. Which would be a good thing...except that she didn’t want to get caught. She fought back as hard as ever, attacking faster, wanting all of this to be over.
Keira had just rounded up on a bunch of people, two adults and a young girl. A family. Both of the parents seemed to be unable to fight back, since they didn’t seem to be armed, which made it all the more easier for Keira. But she couldn’t move fast enough. The young girl’s eyes held such a fear that Keira was almost disgusted that the fear was because of her. And the cries of the innocent children she had hurt was back haunting her again. Gritting her teeth and thinking up of a pretty common curse, she was about to attack just the adults, when someone jumped in front of her.
Charlie Anderson.
Caught off-guard, she took a step back, eyes widening in shock. i can't let you do that keira. She swallowed hard, and felt her heart racing. She didn’t want to do this either. Especially not in front of him. Somehow, she actually valued his opinions of her. Which should have probably gone down the drain by then...but one could hope. She simply stood there, unable to move or think, when she saw him. Andy Coleman. He was rounding up on the group of them with a few other Death Eaters, though none of them moved to attack. They wanted her to do that. Especially Andy, who already knew there was something going on between Charlie and Keira. And he was quick enough, because before Charlie had realised what was going on, Andy had disarmed him.
She cursed under her breath. She was trapped. If she doesn’t attack Charlie now, they would kill him. By then, the small family had somehow managed to escape, so it was just Charlie right there. She thought hard, forcing her brain to come up with an alternative solution, but none came to her mind.
Toughening herself, she made sure to maintain look Charlie in the eye, muttered a barely audible or noticeable ‘sorry’, and flicked her wand with a non-verbal spell that blasted Charlie off his feet, making him land quite a feet away.

charlie had allowed the appearance of keira to distract him. his wand flew out of his hand, disarmed by another death eater. he kicked himself mentally, he shouldn't have given her even a second to rethink her decision. she was a death eater, plain and simple. it had become a reality to him now more than ever. and even if she didn't want to hurt anyone, there were other death eaters around, so there was no other option. they were all watching each other. charlie remembered what joseph tanner had told him about keira. maybe she wasn't trusted very well by the other death eaters and the dark lord? maybe that's why someone was constantly watching her every move. charlie saw the movement of her lips form a "sorry". the next thing he knew his arms were covering his face as he was blasted through the air and across the cobblestone street.
he was face first on the ground, defenseless. or was he? he lifted his face off the ground, and saw, slowly rolling away from him, a wand. not his own wand, but the one he had taken from the first death eater he had encountered since leaving gambol & jape's it must have fallen out of his pants when keira had blasted him away. charlie aggressively snatched it off the ground, slowly picked himself up. once he was back on his feet he rubbed his head and his hand came away with blood. he must have had a cut on his forehead. he could taste it too. he licked his lips and the taste intensified. his lip was bleeding as well. he wiped his mouth on his sleeve leaving a red stain and hurriedly made his way through the crowds of people. these innocent witches and wizards still needed protecting, and if charlie wasn't going to do it who was?
it was hard to make out death eaters with people running around in every direction, but once they spotted him trying to save more people they made themselves very clear by sending hexes at him. charlie pushed the thought of keira out of his mind. she's just another death eater. hex her like you would anyone else, he told himself. another death eater was fighting back and forth with one of the shop keepers, clearly the more skilled wizard, the death eater was about to obliterate the poor man. incarcerous! charlie yelled. the spell wasn't perfect since he wasn't using his own wand so it had come out a little wonky, but regardless, thick ropes appeared out of thin air (not as strong as they should have been thanks to charlie using the death eater's wand from earlier) and began to tie up the unsuspecting death eater, the shop keeper was then given the advantage to hex him.
charlie proceeded through the crowd of people running in every direction. another death eater casting a spell smashing open the windows of eeylops owls emporium, causing the owls in their cages to panic, fluttering within their small prisons. young girls within the store yelled out a terrified scream. charlie approached the death eater stealthily and took him by surprise from behind, not with magic, but physically wrapping his wand holding arm behind his back. the death eater was certainly surprised. not too many wizards fought the physical fight. that was always charlie's strength. being a muggle born on the streets of brooklyn had its advantages later in life. charlie never relied on magic for everything like most witches and wizards did. he increased the pressure of the hold he had on the death eater's arm so that the man dropped his wand.
charlie increased the pressure more, the man began to holler. charlie knew at precisely which moment the bone would snap, breaking his arm. he no longer had any patience for these murderers. only a moment later he heard a sharp SNAP! the arm broke fiercely, and the death eater screamed desperately now. there was bone protruding from the skin. charlie released his grip, let the man fall to the ground writhing in pain. good luck mending those broken bones without this you piece of trash, charlie spat as he picked up the man's wand, breaking it over his knee and tossing it to the floor. he looked up, some of the death eaters had dispersed, but some remained. he continued to maneuver through the crowd.
he got back to gambol & japes, keira was still there, hexing people in the area, but he couldn't see that burly creep from his bar who seemed to always be keeping an eye on her. he decided to take the opportunity while the bloak wasn't in the area. while she was mid hex, charlie grabbed her by the arm forcefully, interrupting her spell, and dragging her into a thin empty alley in between two buildings. it was barely big enough for both of them to stand in, facing each other. he told himself that he wouldn't give her any kind of special consideration. that he would treat her just like every other death eater that was attacking innocent people, but charlie's passion had gotten the best of him. it wouldn't have been the first time.
we don't have much time, listen to me, you don't have to do this, charlie pleaded taking her head in his hands. now that he had stopped moving for a second he had suddenly become aware that his breathing rate had increased. he also only now realized how much his head hurt and how much blood he had tasted. he licked his lips to wash the blood away. please, just get out of here, make up an excuse...you don't have to hurt these people... charlie said quietly. he wanted to dissuade her, but he knew how complicated things were with the death eaters. it wasn't as simple as that, but charlie just couldn't understand how she could live with herself, knowing she didn't stand up for what she believed to be right.

Keira felt horrible. The look of shock, the instant regret of not attacking right away, and the disappointment, all written so clearly over Charlie’s face. And it bothered Keira more than anything. But it wasn’t like as if she had a choice, really. The Death Eaters had surrounded her on purpose. Perhaps the annoying Coleman had told them about his little encounter with herself and Charlie at Yank’s? Damn him if he really had done so. She’d find a way to hurt him soon enough, she honestly will.
Out of the corner of her eyes, she could see the Death Eaters smirking in satisfaction, and resisted an overwhelming urge to punch each of them in the face repeatedly till they couldn’t even recognise themselves. She had important matters to attend to: cursing people, trying to find Charlie, and get the hell out of that place. That would only be possible if the attack was over, so she got on with hexing the still panicking crowd.
This time, she was much less focused on her attacks. Her mind kept reeling back to the confused emotions on Charlie’s face, and wondered whether he was seriously injured or he had gotten the message and gotten out of the place. She sincerely hoped it was the latter. And while her mind was so busy focusing on such things, the defending victims had found it easier to hurt her instead. Not that she allowed them to do that for long, though.
With a few cuts to her arms and one to her cheek, she continued fighting, ignoring the stinging pain. She wasn’t bleeding at all, but the cuts were kind of irritating. She went on, trying her best to get the attack over and done with as soon as possible, when she felt a pair of arms grab her, causing her to lose focus further and panic.
“Let me go if you value your life!” she shouted dangerously. But only when she was squeezed into an alley that was very narrow did she realise that the person who had grabbed her was Charlie. And he didn’t look good at all, with his bleeding lips and fast breathing.
we don't have much time, listen to me, you don't have to do this, she heard him say as she felt his hands go to the sides of her head. She didn’t want to get emotional right then, but Keira couldn’t help but feel surprised, and touched, that he hadn’t just hexed her off the face of Earth by then already. please, just get out of here, make up an excuse...you don't have to hurt these people... Keira smirked, letting out a humourless chuckled. “It’s not that easy, Charlie...it really isn’t,” she wanted to explain more, tell him that she wanted nothing more than to leave it all behind and get away from here, how desperately she didn’t want to attack these people. But her life was at stake, and she feared Voldemort. Feared what she would do to her, or maybe even the one or two people she still valued in her life.
Her hands reached out to trace his still bleeding lips, and she sighed. She brought her wand up, and with a quick flick, she stopped the bleeding. She was no Healer, but she had picked up such handy spells over the years. “You are the one who should leave now. I suspect Coleman – the idiot who had stayed at you bar when I did – knows...uh, thinks, I have a soft spot for you. He might try something dangerous. Leave, Charlie.” She didn’t want him to stay there any more than he wanted her to continue attacking the people. Keira didn’t want to wait and find out if the Death Eaters have in fact planned something for him.

charlie frowned at her. of course it isn't easy! he said, trying not to shout and he smashed one of his hands against the brick wall next to her face. he couldn't help letting his emotions get the best of him. they were just so opposite, he could never come to understand what motivated her choices and maybe she'd never come to understand what motivated his either. but regardless of those differences, he was constantly drawn to her. opposites attract. damn it, keira, it's never gonna be easy fo' you, but are you gonna live the rest of your life makin' easy decisions or right decisions? charlie asked. his tone was almost pleading. he truly wanted her to do the right thing. he had firmly believed one could always do the right thing, but maybe that was his own naivete.
the angrier he got, the more his inner brooklyn muggle came out, but he calmed down when she started to heal his lip. his own healing abilities were absolutely terrible. that was one form of magic he really just had no real knack for. he was convinced it would be the death of him one day. he imagined he'd actually kill himself by trying to heal himself if he tried. when she was through he licked his lips again. no more bloody taste. thank you, he mumbled unwillingly, he was content with being angry with her for the moment. he listened to her impatiently. leave? i can't leave! there are innocent people dyin' out there! it's my job! he protested, then stopped himself before he said another word. his job? it was his job as a pub owner to protect the people? the idea was laughable. keira didn't know anything about his past as an auror and she couldn't know. ever. he didn't trust her anymore. she could potentially relay that kind of information to the other death eaters. his whole scheme, surveillancing them all for years, could all go to shit if they found out he was more than a friendly bar owner offering a place to stay.
charlie composed himself. he couldn't accidentally let any information out to her. he took a deep breath. his voice was much calmer now, soft and quieter. i'm not leaving, he said firmly. then, without warning, charlie leaned forward, pressed his lips against keira's. he rested one hand on the side of her face and kissed her deeply. he didn't know why he did it, but it had felt right. maybe it would break the stone that seemed to encapsulate her cold heart. maybe it would awaken all the feelings she constantly suppressed to be compliant with voldemort and the other death eaters.
charlie pulled away. please don't try and stop me... and with that he slid out of the crevice between the buildings. his back was faced towards the crevice where keira still was. the perfect opportunity to stab him in the back, or rather, hex him in the back in this case. charlie never left his back open to an enemy, that was basic auror training. but he had done it intentionally. one last test of her trust. would she break it?

ooc: baha I just saw your notes! Thank God I saw it, I was about to write up something else XD sounds good! Keira didn’t even flinch when Charlie smashed the wall right next to her. She was all too used to such unexpected venting of frustration – the Dark Lord was extremely unpredictable and bipolar. damn it, keira, it's never gonna be easy fo' you, but are you gonna live the rest of your life makin' easy decisions or right decisions? Those words did make her wince. What he said sounded logical in a way, and yet she knew it wasn’t that easy. “Do you honestly think making the right decision is even possible given my situation, Charlie? Do you think it’s as simple as black and white?” she asked him, now feeling her cheeks turn a little pink in anger. It was all right for him to ask her to make the right decisions, he was a barman who simply serves the Death Eaters with drinks every night. Keira? She was one. She made a mistake and was suffering with it. If she could, she’d have gotten out of this long, long ago.
Though when he thanked her almost unwillingly, she had to try and suppress a chuckle. He sounded like a 5-year-old who was adamant on staying angry. And then he was off ranting, saying it was his job to save the people...wait a minute, save these people? Why would an owner of a bar want to save them? Her confusion lasted for a short while, because the next thing she knew, his lips were upon hers. And it took her less than a couple of seconds to respond to this kiss by clutching his shirt. There was something about him that made her want more.
All too soon, he pulled away, and Keira sighed. She shouldn’t have let this come so far. Usually, after a short fling, she’d just dispose them off as if they were rubbish, and went about her own business. It had been so easy. And now, she was regretting ever meeting Charlie, because she kept wanting more and more. She was afraid that the Death Eaters would eventually end up harming him just to hurt Keira, since she wasn’t all too popular with them. And she didn’t want that.
please don't try and stop me... she heard him, and turned to see him walking into the fight again. “Charlie, please, listen to me. There is no guarantee that I will not be forced to attack you thanks to my comrades, I don’t –" she stopped short, because a bunch of Death Eaters had already found the two of them.
“Why, fancy seeing you two together...again” Coleman said, smirking, and a few other Death Eaters around him laughed. Keira gritted her teeth and took a deep breath. This time, the two of them were in deep shit. And she knew it. There was no way they were going to leave her alone now. “My dear Keira, come on now, we Death Eaters cannot have such petty relationships, right?” Coleman smirked as his patronizing tone proceeded to make her blood boil. She could see that he was walking nearer and nearer to her as the other Death Eaters carefully watched Charlie, making sure he didn’t start attacking them.
“The attack is over...and well, we would have gladly apparated back, if not for the fact that there is a tiny little love story going on here, eh?” Keira could only roll her eyes at that. “Get lost, Coleman. It isn’t as if he’s an Auror. Get lost and leave me alone,” she retorted, to which Coleman merely moved closer to her.
“Oh, I’ll leave you alone, Robinson. But if I leave now, the Dark Lord gets to see Charlie. And I think even you know what might happen then,” he whispered into her ear, and Keira visible paled. Voldemort hated if anyone of his followers were in any sort of relationship. Unless it was off any good to him and the rest of the clan, it wasn't...encouraged. No, she couldn’t let Voldemort get to Charlie. No matter how skilled he might be, the Dark Lord was always quicker.
Coleman, by then, had stepped away from her, knowing that his job was done: he had managed to scare the living daylights out of Keira Robinson with just one sentence, something that he had been waiting to do since Keira had joined them. She bit her lip, looking from the Death Eaters to Charlie, and for the first time in years, Keira was genuinely scared for someone else.
She wanted more time to think up of a way to escape, to explain things to Charlie, but out of the corner of her eyes, she could already see another Death Eater, closer to Charlie, drawing out his wand. He was probably going to hex him and trap him so that he could pack Charlie off to the Dark Lord. Maybe Charlie could handle him, but how many of the others could he handle, even if she fought by his side? They were severely outnumbered.
Taking a deep and shaky breath and ignoring the fact that her eyes were almost blocked by the desperate tears that had formed in them, she held her wand high and pointed it at Charlie.
“Crucio!”
It probably wouldn’t have hurt Charlie as much as it would’ve if someone else had casted that spell on him, because Keira didn’t mean to hurt him. At all. And so before anyone knew what was happening, Keira casted a non-verbal spell to knock Charlie unconscious, to lead the rest of them to believe that he had actually passed out from pain.
With that, and a disgusted look at the other Death Eaters, she apparated along with them, promising herself that she’d find Charlie and explain everything. And she meant everything.

just as charlie left the crevice, suddenly there was coleman, and other death eaters, all circling like vultures. while coleman taunted keira, the rest of the death eaters surrounded charlie. charlie was brave, but he wasn't stupid... usually. he wasn't about to start taking on the five or so death eaters that had circled him. that would mean certain death, he was outnumbered. charlie heard coleman say the attack was over. charlie wanted to be relieved for that, but he wasn't all it meant was that they had succeeded in killing as many people as they could, and charlie hadn't done a better job to stop them. charlie stayed quiet as keira and coleman bantered back and forth. charlie thought she was bargaining for his life, but these were death eaters, they didn't care... why hadn't they killed him yet?
he had about five wands trained on him, one of them ought to have just killed him already. then charlie came to the realization that the only reason a death eater didn't kill was if they were saving the precious moment for their dark lord... wait a minute, this is exactly what charlie wanted! he could be delivered right into the hands of lord voldemort! maybe he could have his chance! he could seek his revenge on Voldemort once and for all! two years of justifying his purpose in life and the disillusionment of his own capabilities began to come together in his brain at this one moment. he was mad, bent on revenge. he wasn't seeing things clearly. if he was brought to lord voldemort it wouldn't be on his own terms and he would be killed instantly. there would be no fight, no chance for him to try and attack, but in the spirit of the moment he didn't think about any of this.
then charlie heard footsteps behind him. he looked over his own shoulder to see keira, with tears in her eyes, aiming her wand at him. he made eye contact with her, but only for a second. before he had any time to realize what was happening, a word was uttered and his feet were knocked out from under him. charlie fell to the floor, contorting in excruciating pain. these were the effects of the cruciatus curse. he knew instantly because it was not the first time it had been preformed on him. mind you, the last time a dark wizard had cast this curse upon him while he was in the auror field, one of his fellow aurors had saved him from it almost instantly so he had only experienced the pain for a second.
but this time, he noticed there was something fundamentally different. even in that split second, that dark wizard's crucio curse had been twice as painful as keira's curse was now. he knew that you really had to mean it in order for the curse to work, and maybe keira really did have some feelings deep down that cared for him, but she had a terrible way of showing it! regardless, the curse was still torturous and his pain receptors were alight causing him to grit his teeth as his body was crucified. charlie mentally told himself he could take this. this would not drive him to insanity. her curse just wasn't strong enough because her heart wasn't in it. but would the other death eaters notice?
it seemed as though keira had already thought of that because suddenly the world started to go dark for charlie anderson. the five death eaters hovering over him all started to disperse into a cloudy black haze, and in a second, the world was gone.
